Black truffles is a rare and wild mushroom and has a high nutritional and economic value that grows in the forests of northern Iran and Italy. In Europe, this mushroom was called the kitchen diamond. But the high quality Iranian truffle is milky in color.
Some may describe the taste of black truffles as a mixture of chocolaty, nutty and earthy and others may describe it as having a subtle woody flavor mixed with a slight mushroom taste. The region where a truffle is harvested from plays a large role in the taste.
Truffles are used to make a variety of foods, soups, salads, pasta and pasta, snacks, sandwiches and as a flavoring for sauces. Today, truffle oil (a cheaper alternative to truffles) is added as a flavoring to a variety of foods and sauces.
